The Moon in June course is a flat fast one loop certified 5k and 2 loop certified 10km of down town Burlington. The route highlights the fabulous Burlington Waterfront at sunset and the downtown core. The finish is at Civic Square at City Hall where the after-party and awards will be held following the race. Participants are encouraged to take advantage of the Annual Meredith’s Kids 1km fun run – which features wave starts for the safety of all the children.
This is an event for the entire family, this year and for the first time anywhere we are offering the GRAND K – this 1k walk is open to all seniors (grand, great grand and great great grand parents). Be part of this grand event for a great cause and come walk, jog, roll or whatever this 1k course just after the screaming kids in Meredith’s Run. Medals, t-shirts refreshments and food to follow.
Awards will be given in 5 year increments, combining the 5k walk and run. The 10k will also be awarded in 5 year increments.
Following the race enjoy the MiJ after-party in Burlington Civic Square. The party is not to be missed – live music, food, a beer garden and the awards ceremony.

My name is Gordon Schottlander and I have been a resident of Burlington since 1950.
When I was 80 years of age I started running the Moon in June. A 5k and 10k run and walk held on the first Saturday of June each year in the evening in downtown Burlington. Now I am 93 and still doing it.
Because the charity of choice for this event is Radius Child and Youth Services who provide assessment and treatment to children, youth and families affected by abuse, neglect and domestic violence.
I do not know of another charity that touches my heart more.
This year we are having a new event called THE GRAND K. This is a 1k walk for Grandparents and Great-Parents and all their families. Come and walk with me or get pushed in a wheelchair…BUT PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT THESE KIDS.
Won’t you join me with your families and grandchildren and great-grandchildren?
I will have four generations there….anyone with 5?
SEE YOU ON JUNE 2. Mark your calendars.
